Fear Free's mission is simple yet impactful: to help prevent and reduce fear, anxiety, and stress (FAS) in pets through compassionate, science-based care and education. By focusing on emotional well-being alongside physical care, pets are given the opportunity to feel safer, more comfortable, and more confident during everyday experiences and interactions.

As Willoughby’s only Fear Free Certified Pet Sitter, we believe pet care should be built on trust, compassion, patience, and understanding. Our approach centers around positive reinforcement, gentle handling, and meeting each pet where they are emotionally and behaviorally. Depending on the individual pet, this may include the use of treats, enrichment, calming music, species-specific pheromones, creating predictable routines, and working at a pace that helps pets feel secure and respected.

Because emotional well-being matters, we do not use or support training tools or handling methods designed to cause fear, pain, or intimidation, including prong, shock, or electronic collars. Our goal is always to create positive experiences that strengthen the bond between pets and the people who love them.
